Cased African Grey Parrot (Psittacus erithacus), circa late 1800's - early 1900's
A full mount perched upon a branch looking to the side, set amongst dried fauna & moss with a blue painted background, enclosed within a period three-glass display case. The front piece of glass is ebonised with gilt borders.
The case has a hook for hanging.
Condition report:
In overall very good condition for its age. Slight old ding to the bottom far left of the case and some very small pieces of fauna in his tail feathers. Please refer to the photos.

The African Grey Parrot
African Greys are considered one of the most intelligent bird species and are known for their problem-solving skills and ability to mimic human speech and other sounds.
They are mostly frugivorous as most of their diet consists of fruit, nuts, and seeds. The species prefers oil palm fruit and they eat flowers and tree bark, as well as insects and snails.
Grey parrots are notorious for mimicking noises heard in their environment and using them tirelessly. They are highly intelligent birds, needing extensive behavioral and social enrichment as well as extensive attention in captivity or else they may become distressed.
